Overview

Rapidly expanding Ashford-based Kennington Cricket Club has been awarded £50,000 by Sport England through their ‘Inspired Facilities’ programme as part of the legacy funding for the 2012 London Olympics. This funding is a huge boost to the club’s re-development programme that has been in place for five years.

With preliminary plans and costings acquired for a new pavilion including bar, toilets, kitchen, scorer’s box and large social area it was evident that further investment and fundraising would be required. As such, we launched an identity and promotion campaign to engage the local community, raising awareness of the project and encouraging local investment and sponsors.

The new building will not only serve as clubhouse for cricketers, but a social hub that could be used to hold community groups and events, furthering the club’s desire to be more heavily involved with the local community. The identity is reflective of an open, friendly and communal venue offering.
